"I really don't know what I could say to you to improve the Whale Cottage.
To be sincere, I have been at your place on this third trip in SA to make a story for an Italian travel magazine, and I have been sent to some luxury five stars places Well, we both enjoyed our complimentary stay in some of the best resorts in the garden route, wine route, and the like. But all the time, and I'm really honest here, we were missing the Whale Cottage. Can I tell you why? I can't. So please take this as coming from my heart. Your place is where I would send my friends. And believe me, this has really nothing to do with the price. Even at ten times your fee, I did not experience a better comfort, and state of mind. Really, really missing the Whale cottage, Chris. Thank you again for being able to book me in such a short time, you have been of great support to me. My heart was badly hurt in missing to see the big whale sign at Bakoven. a piece of my personal history is gone, and for some reason this is really making me very sad. it's just as a dear friend is gone forever for a better place in the universe. but it will stay in my heart forever."

Die Terasse vor dem Zimmer war fast jeden Abend Treffpunkt für einen Sundowner für den Teil der Familie, der gerade nicht auf dem Pad unterwegs war. Doro, Fritz und ich haben den Urlaub im Whale Cottage und eine wunderschöne Hochzeit in Stellenbosch gemeinsam mit Esther mit ihrem Mann Jost, Hans mit Jenny und Karl mit Beatrice unglaublich genossen! Da wir alle jetzt einen "Koffer" in Südafrika haben, kommen wir bestimmt wieder und wohnen dann bei Dir. Von Mariana, die ja ausnehmend liebenswürdig und hilfreich ist, sind wir sehr verwöhnt worden. Marianna found nothing too much bother, and my regret was that I left too early in the morning to thank her properly face to face. I think she knew how much I was enjoying myself as we had a lot of conversations during the week. The place was clean and tidy, food was great, without boring you too much. Next time I come to South Africa on holiday (and there will be a next time) you will be the first people I will be contacting for accommodation. Looking forward to a return visit."

Wir hatten das gleiche sehr positive Gefuehl wie damals in Franschhoek. Das Whale Cottage in Hermanus hat Seele - wenn man es so nennen will, und Barry traegt dazu einen sehr grossen Teil bei.
